OUR COACHES
OWNER, COACH, THE MAN BEHIND THE BEARD
JARED “Z” ZIESMER
I own CrossFit Allectus with my wife Ali. I was drawn to CrossFit because of my time in the Army where we train as a group everyday. I love that about CrossFit. We all train together. I hold multiple certifications in different areas of fitness ranging from CrossFit, Olympic weight lifting, Powerlifting, Pre-hab, Re-hab and Sport Specific Training. I work 1on1 with clients and in group settings. I'm big on working smarter not harder for athletes. Coaches need to be up to date with current methods and know the history as well so they can evolve in the right direction and safely progress athletes.

OWNER, COACH
CHRIS LEHN
I started CrossFit in 2016. I had tried going to commercial gyms but without any sort of direction or programming I didn't last very long. I got into coaching because I saw what CrossFit had done for me and I wanted to help others reach their goals. I really enjoy the sense of community at the gym. We all kind of hold each other accountable to show up everyday and put in the work.
OWNER, USA WEIGHT LIFTING COACH
JOAN OLSON
I am Joan Olson a USA Weightlifting Coach. My passion is teaching strength and technique of the Clean & Jerk and the Snatch. I am a mother of 3 boys, they keep me busy with basketball, football and many other activities. In my free time I stay active with CrossFit, Oly Lifting, biking and playing with our family dog Loki.
Britt Kompelien
Owner/ Coach
I started CrossFit in 2017 at the age of 37. Having never been an athlete, I was worried about my lack of experience in a gym. Little did I know that CrossFit Allectus was made up of an incredibly awesome and athletically diverse group of people who had very different ability levels but were all there for the same goal and purpose: to be better every day. It didn’t take long for me to come to appreciate the extensive benefits of CrossFit and the people and coaches at the gym. I’ve been here ever since and completed my Level 1 CrossFit coaching certification in 2018.
Favorite CF movement: DB snatches, double unders, and anything with a barbell.
Least favorite CF movement: T2B
Sam Haley
Owner/ Coach
I started CrossFit in 2014 and joined CF Allectus in 2015 when I moved to Alexandria from the cities. I was instantly hooked on the methodology, constant variety, and coming from a competitive background, it greatly appealed to me. I enjoy coaching as it gives me a first-hand opportunity to help others becomes the best version of themselves in the gym. I grew up playing baseball, basketball, and football. I still play town ball with the Urbank-Parkers Prairie Bombers and attribute my ability to still be competitive against younger guys to CrossFit. Who says you can’t be a starting shortstop at 35 years old.
Favorite Movements: Rope Climbs, Deadlifts, Toes-to-Bar, and Box Jumps
Favorite TV Show: Seinfeld
